just recently like my last 2 trips my hydro steering will just quit and as long as i continue to steer my wheel the direction that it quit in it will not come back. But if i immediately steer the other direction just a jerk of the wheel it will come right back like nothing ever happened any ideas what is going on it is not a good feeling to have your steering wheel do absolutely nothing when driving down the gravel road in tellico. I am running a danfoss orbital valve and haven't had any problems with it up to this point

sounds like you got some junk in the orbital. are you running a filter? if yes, and it's in the return line, it may be a precursor to your pump going out.. Or, it could just be something malfunctioning in the orbital.

you have an orbital issue

& if you don't have a filter like Rich said you need one

I have a few let me know If I can help

would it be smart to try and take it apart and clean the orbital out i haven't ever taken one apart before and don't know if that would be wise or not. and yes i am running a filter i have run it with the filter in line and without the filter and it does it either way

Gimme the serial # on your orbital I may be able to get you a rough break down of how it goes together & a more specific answer from one of the vendors or Hyd. engineers I work with

Jeff, do you have / can get the filters for the pressure line? I've yet to lay eyes on one...

I have one on the return side..

Let me see what I can do. We use high pressure filters in the closed loop hyd. systems instead of suction. I'll get you a cost what size ports in\out do you need. What max pressures are you running?

-6/-6, and certainly under 2500psi..

Gimme a day or 2 to get the answers back

thanks, i am leaving tomorrow evening to go to the bills patriots game in buffalo on sunday. if i don't have time to do it before i leave i will get it to you when i get back thanks for the help.
