full traction ultimate 4" lift BAD IDEA

Had full traction 4" ultimate lift installed and the springs they have with system are way to soft . I think they are way unsafe for road use. I have driven other peoples lifted Jeeps and they drive way better . I have had other people drive mine and they say they would not do it again. I think they have made some kind of mistake somewhere in the design or sent me the wrong springs. I have been told by other 4x4 shops that they have had to change the springs . I have CALLED Full Traction over and over and they say the person I need to talk to is a busy man ( so am I ) . When I finally did get in touch with him I provided imformation but after calling and calling he has not taken care on the problem. Now they are not calling me back . I have ordered Rubicon Express 4.5" springs to take care of the problem they will be here tuesday.
My money talkes to me it says by by

Be a little more vauge please.......

Knowing which Jeep these parts were installed on would be pretty helpful.

Not knowing any specifics of the suspension or application, one can only guess the cause/effect of what is happening with the suspension.

If the information given to Full Traction was as vauge as what was given here, I can see why they couldn't be bothered to call back.

Maybe there is something in the details that could help one of us help you ?

Things to consider,

Swaybars, are they connected ? coil sprung TJ's NEED sway bar(s) on the road due to the nature of the coils being soft.

Front axle caster angle, was it set properly when the new arms were installed ? This will cause the vehicle to dart all over unpredictably and cause shakes (death wobble, aka DW) at higher speeds.

are the adjustable arms all ajusted equally and the proper length? mis-adjusted arms can cause some wild handling issues.

The Triagnulated link in the rear, is the mount installed properly?

are the axles locked ? tires matched and proper air pressures? this can and will impart wild steering effects as well.

Shocks ?

Kevin

info

Really did not want to make the post to long so maybe I did not provide enough info .99 TJ checked measurements from axle to axle cross ways , arms proper lengths, never wreaked, new blistein 5100 shocks, alignment, new tires and rims, tire presure OK. front track link OK. :p
THESE SPRINGS BELONG IN A BALL POINT PEN

Well, apparently it takes too much effort to describe how the vehicle is actually handling or even to let the whole story be known.

EDIT,
yes I was being an ass

Andy up at CRS has had similar problems. I believe he also installed RE coils to correct it. Either way Full Traction should make every effort to correct the problem do to liability reasons. IMO

info

Crs has told me the springs are the problem. Orded Rubicon Express 4.5" springs will be here tuesday . I will let everyone know what happens when I install them. We think the springs are to soft.I have driven other lifted Jeeps and the springs they have do not ride like these. I think when people have a problem with a product you sell you should address it not keep them waiting for weeks. I own a very big business myself and I do not keep my customs waiting for me and not returning calls after they have called me over and over. I am a very busy person to but not to busy for my customers.

i know 2 guys who i wheel with and they have the full traction kits and love them. i have ridden with both of them and never noticed any unstability. off road they seem to be excellent as both guys at tellico and uhwarrie seem to do very well with small tires (33 and 35) and only the rears locked.

YOU ARE CRAZY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

Dont think that what Andy or this guy say is law. They might have their own opinion about FT but so do people like me and the others who are running their kits. I have the 6 inch FULL TRACTION lift on my rubicon and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! I think the kit kicks A$$ and I would not trade it for a POS rubicon express sit. A coil is a Coil unless its a COIL. If you dont like flexy soft coils then go ahead buy some stiff re coils. Enjoy and go wheel.

I was wondering where you went doughboy I hadnt heard your crazy rants in awhile...Welcome back

Ive been in jeeps with both FT and RE and they are both nice. I have RE and love it, its no POS

done

Finished coil springs install and am very happy with ride. Compared the spring stiffness of rubicon express and full traction springs and the full traction spring are way softer. I just wished full traction would have been a company that would have tried to help or even call me back.
THANKS FOR REPLIES
