Finally getting to it. Those of you who have been to my house recently (or ever, really  ) know how disasterous my garage is. It is pretty damn bad. :shaking:

I've had enough of it, and I am finally going to get it just the way I want it before the Camaro comes back from the metal shop.

I started taking EVERYTHING off the shelves and selling/trashing everything I don't want. I've sold a bunch already, but still have about half a garage floor full of stuff for sale.

I am getting carts for my business stuff, my welder, and a cart to put my tools on while I do projects.

Then I am going to paint all my shelving black and get red bins for all my reorganized stuff. Then I'm going to VCT tile my floor in a checkerboard pattern. After that I am going to run some new compressed air drops to a few different points, and then I'm going to finish all my lighting and my stereo setup.

We've worked about every night this week, and still have many nights left. But it is going to be awesome when we get done with it. :huggy:

sounds like a lot of work. Im sure it will be worth it.

If you still havent gotten it outta your system head my way....my garage has your name alllll over it!

It was pretty bad, but I helped clean out alot of the stuff taking up space in there!!!

Made more progress tonight. Stuff is slowly making its way back to shelves, and things are finding their way into the trash and for sale pile.

Still a bunch to go, but we're making real progress here!

Remember, these pictures were AFTER selling about $400 worth of stuff and throwing out two big trashcans worth, and taking a truckload of parts to my storage space.

I just moved back to Raleigh and am still without a job to compliment my class schedule so if you need a hand with moving some stuff I don't mind helping, free of charge. I just need something to fill my time. Send me a pm if you want.

Good God man.
I would *love* to have a nice garage like that. You really are wasting a good resource, glad you got cleanin'!

(Oh and I get that same look from my wife all the time)

Yeah, it would really be great if I could use all the tools I have! Now that I'll have a fresh clean garage maybe I can actually finish a project.

I've got a nice little blasting cabinet, nice compressor, good MIG welder, an oven, two powdercoating setups, tubing bender, nice stereo, TV with digital cable, water cooler, beer fridge, and air conditioning!

I could sleep out there if I get it clean!

Not too much of an update, but I got a little bit done. My hot water heater exploded this morning, so I got the day off from work.

While the guy was replacing it, I took everything out of my toolbox, blew it out with the air hose, and reorganized everything. Then I cleaned off the oven top and boxed up a few things for the attic.

Then I installed my A/C!

good lord man! those are the AFTER shots!

gonna be a nice workspace though.

Did some more work, cleaned off the blasting cabinet and put it in its new home, finally attached my vise to my workbench, and got rid of some more old parts that were in my way.

Tonight we're hoping to finish up getting all the workbench cleaned off, put up a couple more florescent lights in the garage, and get the compressed air piping all squared away.

I am trying to make it look like a surgery room in there with all the lights. I already have 5 2-bulb fixtures, and one small one over the workbench. I am going to add two more to the wall above the garage door and wire them up to a separate switch so I can have light back there when the garage door is closed.

I'm getting really excited about this.

I mounted 2 above the door, directly over the windows... which gives decent light when the door is up, just not as bright as when it's down...

Unfortunately... windows in the door would be another project for you at this point!

Dont feel bad, really mine was a lot worse believe it or not. My two car unit at the house was 25' X 35' with a 12' X 20' spray booth built inside that space. My building now is 27' X 70', and it's still full so you can imagine what it looked like in the garage. I did learn though, now matter how big a shop I get, if I'm not carefull about cleaning up, I can still destroy it in a matter of days.

no matter how big a shop I get, if I'm not carefull about cleaning up, I can still destroy it in a matter of days.

Amen to that!

We're getting there. Last push tonight, the Camaro is coming back on Wednesday!

It is a functional garage again! Still have a few small piles to go through, but they shouldn't be too bad.

I now have a functional workbench though!
