Where can I pick up (or borrow?) a small bit of the yellow paint used for checking gear patterns in Winston?
Before installing my new-to-me rear 5.29 third, I want to check and just be sure the setup is reasonable...
... after discovering the ring gear bolts were not properly torqued, I'm now a bit leary....

It doesn't take hardly any, so if you want to come pick it up from me I've got some as long as you get it back to me. Or I can mail it to you and you can mail it back when you are done. Mailing sounds crazy but it might be $0.84 to mail it, as opposed to $10 in gas.

Just let me know if you want to pick it up, or where to mail it to.

Problem is, I really kind of need it today. Just started gettin gsuspicious last night when I went to install it.

I can mail you some or you can get some at napa as gear spray paint comes in blue called marking paint, white out works mix it with a little grease so it won't dry.

I saw someone use mustard once, i won't name names.

Vasaline & baby powder mix.

See, I was sitting here thinking of thinsg around the house that would work.
But none of the above items seem like things I'd want leftover hanging out in the gears afterwards.

then wipe the stuff off once your happy with the set-up

Vaseline is a petrolium product so it won't hurt anything in there. I used wheel bearing grease to hold the springs in my lockright before I put it in.

I have'nt been on here for a couple days or I could have got you some marking compound. If you want, bring the third by the house and I will check it out.
