I am regearing my '97 TJ. 4 banger, 33s, stock d30 and d35, locked. Planning on staying with 33s, and the d30/d35. Know will have to upgrade shafts but not planning on that till they break. Decided on 4.88 gears from the stock 4.10. Seems to be where will get even better performance on trail and still be bearable when taking the dogs out for a ride. I am hearing mixed reviews about Yukon, hearing some about Superior.....just looking for some opinions and experiences before purchasing the gears. Thanks!!!

Call cperry at east coast gear supply most knowledge around when it comes to gears.

4.88s should be perfect

Let me see, calling a company in California for parts, you have shipping on 25lbs of parts ( not cheap ) it'll take a week minimum to get to NC, then if there is a problem, who do you call locally to help?

yup, makes sense to me.

www.eastcoastgearsupply.com EDIT: and blows the other guys prices out of the water for the same parts !!

Durham NC, order monday before 3pm, you'll more than likely have your parts Tues, Wed at latest ( I got mine next day ) even got the right parts.

AND, if there are issues, you have local support ( same time zone at minimum )

Chase is a pretty alright guy to deal with, Metto, well, someday he'll get to wear the big boy shoes !!

funny how her question was not where to buy the gears but thats the only reply she got. tish my opinion in your situation i dont see yukon being a problem. if you want premium gears id go with precision. if i were going to regear my jeep it would be with nitro gears. and yea chase at ecgs. is a good first call.oh dont worry about install kits i have everything needed just get oil and pinion seals.
