Getting a 97 XJ

Well im biting the bullet and buying a 97 XJ and just switching all of my stuff over to it. i got a really good deal on it. 130k miles and really nice, but the ABS light is on. Will that cause it NOT to pass inspection? or is that just the check engine light? And if it WON'T pass, anyone know how to disable the light?

I cannot remember there being anything about other lights being on in the dash. I took the class a year and a half ago so don't hold me to it. The best way to make sure is call an inspection station and ask them ahead of time.

I'm going to ask a stupid question, but does it have ABS. Most Cherokees don't, and if it has the 8.25 rear axle it doesn't.

abs is for girls. jk. imo just pull all the abs stuff off.

Coming from an inspector, the ABS light will not cause you to fail inspection. As long as the brakes work fine and the e brake works you're good to go. The check engine light is the only light that matters on the dash aside from your turn signal indicators and high beam indicator.
