moving my mobile deer box blind this weekend
:huggy:

ha, yeah. got a couple friends that have little boys that might be coming down in a couple years, so I built this 'brick $hithouse of a deer stand and I move it every once in a while to keep things interesting. this was the move weekend. we were walking around it testing the stability when we took this pick - Nash County NE corner

dang.i hunt in halifax co,scottland neck area.not too far from ya.we just had our club meeting today and got the dues paid.the box stands are the way to go.we got 3 metal ones that are 21ft tall.

Charles doesn't have a dog to scare 'em out, so he just has the Willys drag the stand around to scare 'em out!

no, just watching it- seeing what we can improve before I build another. mobility is something that I couldn't really pre-engineer, just did the best I could, and see what works and what doesn't. thinking about adding a bow hunting platform on top and thinking that might really make it top heavy. a few guys on here have seen it/hunted out of it and its dang rock solid. the trick was the legs running all the way up the side walls and lag bolted to 2x8s on the bottom frame then lagged into plates that are then welded to the floor. all pressure treated and has a shingled roof. thats why I was thinking its too top heavy, but seeing it on the move, its really quite stable.

an clever observer will notice front and rear trailer hitches so I can get in into spots that I don't have to back it out of. ahhhh, smart like that. the plan was to be able to drag it in the nastiest crap ever in hope of someone not having the nerve to go back in there to steal it. if they did, they would have the slowest get-away ever.

Stand stealers suck. Some friends told me they did some "ghost ridin" years ago on some abandonded RR tracks down east somewhere. They had a 79 Toyota truck and said w the tires aired down it would ride down the tracks for 20+ miles while they sat in the back and drank beer and enjoyed the ride.

Trolling for deer.

They may have my have scouted deer, but knew better than to carry weapons. They said the mobile party w chairs, cooler, and a card table was the fun, ......until someone fell off the truck:eek:! they would turn it around and ride back again and again.

LOL Nice !!! So watching it moving on a trailer will inspire what kind of improvements? More road worthy? Better suspension ?

engine blocks on the trailer for counterweights. once that puppy starts tipping, theres no stopping it. I cant make it wider, it wont fit in the skidder trails.
