The dash cover cracked in my 02 2500HD from the previous owner mounting something to it with a few screws. It was just two holes until it all came out to fix the HVAC box. Happens...it's 17 year old plastic. I got a new dash for it from another truck and it's the same color...mostly. It just needs to be repainted before it goes back in my truck.
I've been looking at SEM products as they seem to be good quality. I just can't decide or decipher which color I need. The interior color code is 52I/522. None of the ones I tried at any local auto parts stores matched when I shot them next to the overspray on the bottom of the dash cover. I've seen that they offer a PN 17133 and 15863, both listed at Lt Neutral. I have no problem ordering them, I just can't tell for sure which one I need....so here I am. I didn't think it'd be this difficult to find what I needed.
I plan to clean it really well with the SEM 38363 surface prep, then shoot it with their 38353 no sand primer/adhesion promoter, followed by the color itself, and then the 13023 low luster clear/top coat. I feel like that should make a pretty durable surface that shouldn't scratch or peel any time soon.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Previous experience?
