good free virus scan?

what's the best free virus scan out there? I don't see spending $60 on a virus checker every couple years or however long the subscriptions last.

AVG Free has worked for me. Combine that with Adaware, and you're pretty covered.

I used AVG, but switched to Commodo Jan 1 09. There were some updates to both, and it was easier for me to add the Commodo AV to the Commodo Firewall I was already running.

We do have Roadrunner, after calling Time Warner and getting our RR e-mail address (they never gave it to us), I downloaded CA.

All I can say is I am thankful to have the computer back, no more fake antivirus crap popping up telling me I have a virus, and then trying to get me to download what was likely a virus...

CA seems to be doing good so far.

I have used Avast since they came out and have never had a single issue. I use it on 4 different computer in my house!
