Good places around Charlotte for Christmas Tree?

Went and looked at Christmas trees yesterday. HOLY CRAP I am in the wrong business. About the cheapest one I could find that looked decent was 82 bucks . About twice what I paid for a similar tree last year.

Anyone got know of a good place around the Charlotte-ish area to get a decent Christmas tree without costing out the nose? I figure if I could go a little ways out of Charlotte, I could get a better price and probably support a local grower.

I'm about ready to drive up to the mountains and get one! Damn the fuel bill!

Holy $hit.
We bought one from a local guy setup in a parking lot for $28. It's "only" ~6' tall but that's plenty for me.
If you're up for a 6 hr drive I can get one another at that rate!

After Christmas, Belk sells the ones they use in their stores for displays. They are always nice. Of course, that does you no good now, but thought I'd let you know because I like the one we got.

Find a charity sale and buy from there? We always pay about $60 for a tree from the Optimists. I could get it cheaper elsewhere, but they put the money to good use.

I work in Indian Trail! Where? Is it the guy at 485 and Lawyers?

I hope not, I looked at his trees, nothing very desirable. Also checked the Methodist Church, didn't see any decent ones left.
