Good read on US oil exploration

America always talks about "becoming energy independent," but how can you do so when the people that control the country are a bunch of tree huggers that find it more important to save an animal than it is for a family to be able to live these days!
All this stuff is killing businesses and only making the people that can afford to invest in oil only richer!
Right now I just wish that oil would drop to about $35 and those people would lose their shirts, and feel the pain of most Americans

My 4 step solution that I submitted to Rep.Patrick McHenry
1. Build 1-2 nuclear plants in every state, cleaner power, reduced CO2, great paying jobs. France is 85% nuke. If they can do it then surely we can
2. Drill ANWAR, both coasts, everywhere. When Katrina hit there were over 3000 rigs lost, no oil spills
3. Remove the .54/gallon tarrif on Brazillian ethanol. But our lovely senators included it in the farm bill until 2010. Braz ETHis made from sugarcane and 9 times more of an energy factor than corn. Will reduce this bullshit of corn from ethanol which is raising ALL food prices.
4. Allow market forces to create profitable solutions to more efficiency of use. CAFE standards do little as they do not include large trucks.

Problem is, you are talking about a whole country that is, what, slightly smaller than Texas?
Dosn't take THAT much pwer to do the trick.
US = 16+ times the size = 16+ times the nuclear waste.
Oh and conveniently France also dosn't store all of their own waste, either. Good luck getting an EU partner to take ours for us....

Not anti-Nuc by any means just pointing out issues. I'm for 100% non-fossil fuel.
 
Well there has to be something done. Enviros dont want CO2 emissions but dont want nuclear? Guess we just dont need any energy. The whole 3 Mile Incident that is behind the distaste of nuclear was from a passive computer system and a guy that read the gauges wrong.

ya and France has about 20-25 Nuke plants, Franklin is proposing 100 plants (2 per state), in conjunction with existing Hydro plants I'd assume. If Hoover takes care of damn near all the major cities in the Southwest and Niagara does the same for the North East, then that should take care of the majority of the population. take the remained of the population, and 100 Nuke plants should handle it I'd presume. But I'm not a nuclear engineer... however I do know one that I could ask.
 
Hell, theres already 3 of them in NC, and were not glowing in the dark.

what 401k i cashed out last week to pay off some loans so we can have a little monthly money to eat on. ill just be glad when this election crap is over its gotta get better cant get any worse at my house iv gone from having a little cushin$ to makin it to next week all in 1 year hell i hope hillary wins so my ammo will be worth more
