so... i'm considering selling the jeep... actually pretty serious about it.

i just can't see keeping it without spending another $6k+ in a drivetrain swap and 4 links/coilvoers.... it's done everything i ever wanted it to do and i just can't justify the money it would take to get it to the next level that would make me content....

so, if you know anyone looking for a project, send them my way.... i'm sad to say goodbye but i think it's time to take a break from this hobby until i can afford to start over fresh and build something "right" the first time (you can go ahead and read that as, "pay someone else to build me something big nasty sick tube'd out hotness shiznit")

i wasn't sure what to ask, and i'm still not... but judging from the local craigslist ads for wranglers it's obvious that they are made of gold so i put it up at $6,500 as-is. i would never pay that for it if i was in the market but i'm seeing stock yj's with 150k+ miles being advertised for the same of more so screw it, maybe i'll find a super lucky and happy buyer!

not sure what will come next... a bike probably... then after a few visits to the hospital i'll probably start looking some someone to build me a daily driveable trail rig with creature comforts that the yj was never lucky enough to have.

i'm depressed. going to the bar to hunt snatch. maybe that will cheer me up....

Don't feel bad Erik. My Jeeps done also except I got another rig this time it'll be a budget wheeler for those times I just want a quick fix, nothing to hardcore

make that your new hobby...that will cost more than a buggy:huggy:

I've though about selling many of my rigs, you should find someone at least willing to come close to that price for it if all the work is well carried out on it.

On a side note: Snatch hunting is not cheap if you hunt for quantity. Quality recreational snatch can only truly be found at the back of the trailer park though. White trash girls know how it's done, and they're impressed with McDonalds and a six pack of nattys

it's wilmington... snatch is abundant and rotated often. as long as said snatch's carrier takes her pill i think it's a much better alternative at this time.

True, even I know lots of snatch in Wilmington....

come on dude you know better then to post for sale ad in chit chat..

then to ad a criagslist ad to your post..

Well, yeah, the craigslist was retarded... but this seemed more like a legit chit chat post then a for sale ad.

And honestly, if it is that easy to "give up", then you might need to find a different hobby. No way i would sell my rig, no it isnt exactly what i would want/ build if i had better funds, but it still allows me to get out in the woods and do an activity i enjoy.

The thing is... Leave your rig alone now.. Find something else to spend your time on... If my rig was done, i'd consider purchasing a little rice rocket start working on that to make it a little powerhouse, that way your hobby of vehicle modding is continuing and your not dropping money all in one thing, plus you'd have a decent DD that could smoke stuff at the line...... just my .02

Oh but yes I do....

And yeah it sucks he got banned.

I stick with the fact that you're an idiot. The fact of the matter is you're looking for a one in a billion customer. Someone that wants a jeep that big and that bare, but knows little enough about it that they would look at your problems and still offer you anything for it. Your problem is you have champagne taste on a beer budget. As you mentioned that Jeep has done everything you have wanted it to, why 4 link it? That's the best performing leaf sprung vehicle I've ever seen, why are you so hell bent on changing it? You know as well as I do that thing does better than most coil sprung jeeps (mine definitely included. Why don't you just put new springs under it and get your boy brendan to fix the antiwrap bar and do your beloved drivetrain swap. you won't even buy axles for the price you'll sell your jeep for. My offer stands, when it doesn't sell, I'll give you a grand for it. It solves all of your problems. 1) you won't see anyone driving it, because I'd take out the axles and scrap the rest. 2) It won't cost you anymore money. 3) you can stop bitching about how crappy a Jeep that works great is.
I hope for your sake you do sell it, I'm tired of the BS.

^^^man, I hope you guys know one another

yeah they are lovers,i mean buddies, damn chad take easy on him,Erik if it means anything i'll up the offer to 1500.00-------j/k i got my own shit to spend money on

Erik is back now huh? Flex them "e-muscles" ha ha

Man.. Selling that thing has regret written all over it. If you are anything like me, then the prospect of looking at apicture and telling people how cool it 'was' and how it 'did' everything you asked it to is gonna get painful.

Maybe you're different than me man, but it seems like if it's not a 'must sell' to survive, I'd be kicking myself in hindsight.

But then.. that's from the outside looking in. I can only see it from here, and the view may be different from where you're standing.

yea i really didn't intend this to be a "for sale" thread... i was more or less just trying to say "i'm done with this for a while"

i can see where i went wrong mentioning to tell your friends and that i was looking for a buyer but the link was there only because i was expecting feedback as to whether or not i priced it right..... i think i was 110% honest in my description and i'm definitely not trying to mislead anymore... i mean let's be honest, my craigslist ad wasn't exactly a "BUY THIS BEAUTY!" kinda ad.... lol
anyway, sorry, didn't mean to break any rules or step on any toes. it won't happen again.

as for getting rid of it... yea, i'll miss it... but the truth is i don't have the time it takes to enjoy it. with my work schedule i don't see making it to uwharrie anytime soon and there isn't ANYTHING here to wheel except for muddy pieces of land that facilitate my sweet doughnuts..... and that's only fun for the first 15 minutes or so :(

i'm putting it on eBay in the next week or two... not sure what i'll set my reserve at so if anyone has a suggestion for a fair asking price/reserve i'm all ears.... i looked at a 1000RR today and i'm going to check out a GSXR-1000 tomorrow..... completely different end of the spectrum but i've always said that you should try everything once.... so here goes....

-Erik <---- will crush cgorman's jeep like he did the last cherokee that talked trash!

I told my friend. Seriously, I did. He's looking for a trail rig in about (actually a little less than) that price range.
