Ok so I was wheeling a little bit ago, and I parked on a hill. I was in 4 low in 1st gear and my Jeep was still rolling backwards. The hill wasn't that big of an incline. I know I've heard people say that when the e-brake goes out in a Jeep it's out for good, but why would it still roll? I'm just a little curious if there is something wrong my Jeep or what.

if your engine doesnt have enough compression to resist the weight of the truck from turning the motor over while on an incline the truck will roll.

doesnt mean there is anythign wrong with it, just means the truck is heavy and the hill was steep...there could be somethign wrong with it but that isnt a good indication of it.

when it rolled back did it roll like a quarter of a tire roation then stop, then do it again as if the motor would turn over then build compression until it over came it again, or did it just roll on down the hill? shoudl have asked this earlier sorry

mine does the exact same. I keep 2 rocks in mine so i can stop up the back tires if on a hill
