well yesterday i was rear ended by a cute little jeep (XJ on 31's) and well since i had no bumper i've got a little damage on the rear quarter panel as well as a little on the tailgate. im supposed to be meeting with an insurance adjuster on tuesday to see how much the damage is worth and well if anyone that has any expirence in this area and can ballpark what they think its gonna cost it sure would help me out alot. im not trying to get screwed
I had a similer accident on our senior class trip. (buddy rear ended my EB very much the same in his parents brand new s-10 blazer. Granted this was 13 years ago, but the adjuster said in excess of 3 grand to fix so they totaled the rig and cut me a check for $2600 ($3k minus 400 they said it would bring at auction). I kept the truck and had it fixed for 1300 and pocketed another 1300. It had to get a new rear quarter, (like yours), a new corner piece and reshape the custom tire carrier. Nowadays I'd say that's probably $2600 in damage, but I'm no body estimator. If you want to get it fixed, pick your favorite body shop and get an estimate there and then have it fixed and let the insurance CO pay the bill. Do not accept a check for the price of the estimate!!!! I'll guarantee there is damage you can't see.
I don't know but just fyi I got into a massive poo flinging fest with my old insurance company over something similar. They were trying to say the full amount wasn't going to be covered b/c of no bumper to protect the bodywork
