My jeep is having extreme electrical problems that i need desperate help with.

The jeep cuts of when driving, accerating/decelerating/idling, when it gets hot. The ASD relay is extremely hot when after it dies, and the other relays are warm as well. the dash shows very strange lights on it when you try to crank it after it dies, and the battery guage reads below 9 (as if its not even connected) and its a brand new red top optima. it shows no codes when hooked up to diagnosis, and it reads that everything is functioning perfectly.

new parts:
ecu
cam posistion sensor
crank sensor
tps
battery
terminals on battery
alternator
distriputor

need a new fuse/relay board?

anybody got any ideas or can come help me out? i'm in raleigh and the jeep doesnt start or stay on when it does start. willing to pay if someone can come figure it out

call douglas battery. see if they have a raleigh location. they are good about troubleshooting electronic issues.

not much help, just an observation.
"Hot" electrical usually is a good indicator of major current flow. most likely in the form of a short, or a draw with inadequate wire size supplying

That does help a little bit actually thanks.

If only I could find the problem

how all the wiring to the batter/alternator/starter? I had similar problems and I repleaced all the wiring and it starts right up... jsut a suggestion

Pcm...

Original oem ecu died in Feb, had another one til about 100 miles ago, in which I changed it out again in hopes of solving this problem, but its still doing it even with yet another new ecu

Where did you get your alternator? If it's from advance or any auto parts store other than the dealer, it's probably the problem. Thus far it seems like about 99% of those reman jobs are defective. They will test it and tell you it's putting out 14 volts, but it won't put out any amps.

The shop that put my new engine in put the alternator on as an attempt to solve this problem, and the original needing replacing.

I'm not sure where they were supplied the alternator, but I believe they get their parts from "cardone" which they got both of the ECU's i've put in the jeep, which were both remans, as well as my new engine.

I'll go by and ask them if it is a reman alternator to find out where it is from

Check ALL your grounds. I just went through the same kind of problems with my Chevy Z-71.....REPLACED EVERYTHING- then checked grounds and made a BIG difference! They get corroded up and the computer won't get the proper voltage and builds up heat- I don't know if this is your problem- but it's a cheap place to look.

When it dies- what does the volt gauge say? do you have a volt meter with ya to check it with when it does? Also check OHMs between the neg battery terminal and all ground sources- should be LESS than .3 or better yet- 0.00!
