For my 80 Cherokee, after sitting overnight it cranks a long time before it starts. On the order of a minute or so, in several bursts. I have a clear fuel filter after the regular canister type, and I noticed there is no fuel in there after sitting. In fact, I noticed the fuel level dropping after I shut it off. Sometimes on startup I have a lot of bubbles in the clear filter, but it fills completely after a little while.
Am I looking at a fuel pump problem or a leak in one of the supply hoses, or something else? I smell gas every once in awhile, but have not found any leaks. Also, my oil smells like oil with no gas smell.
