Ive got a smittybilt compressor that I want to mount to my truck. I think I am going to mount it under the bed next to my tank. It has 2 clamp style connectors to attach to battery posts like jumper cables but Smittybilt says it can be hard wired. To hard wire it, do I simply cut those connectors off, match the wire size and run it to the battery?

Yes. You just match the gauge of wire. Run your extensions as long as you need them. Put some ring terminals on the end of them and hook it to you battery.

If you want to run it to switch in the truck, you will need to find out what the amp draw of the compressor is and put a relay inline. Run the wires to a switch and the relay and your set.

I would run it through a relay with a switch in the cab. I am not sure how air tight that system is so I wouldn't want it running intermittently when not needed.
