Oh my, what a lot of stuff broken on this trip, thank god I wasn't a part of it. I'll post a couple of vids and some pics later tonight. Dave, hope you're able to move today.

all of us had some sort of problem...Mel ripped the enitre lower section of his oil pan off on Crawfords cry....an aluminum 8.1

who broke?

Hmm, let's see....

Greg S-forgot to fill radiator, ran hot, topped it off with muddy water

Greg N-amazingly only broke a lockout while doing neutral drops on big perm.

Josh- rear axle shaft on big perm

JT-front axle u-joint, egged outer shaft on lower damnation, dead battery while making the repair, tranny in tow rig

Mel- giant hole in the bottom of an 8.1 aluminum oil pan

Me- hole in fuel line, spraying on the exhaust, frt axle u-joint, wheels constantly leaking.

I think that pretty much covers it.

Good times.

I cut another tire, broke rear axle shaft, broke brake caliper tab, broke front traction bar bolt, and by the time I got it on the trailer my lower link bolts and driver rear lugs were hand tight. I did make it up Creampuff ,though. All but the last 5 ft, I had to winch over the last rock. I was thinking about Dave when I decided to winch. How you feelin today?

I slept from yesterday afternoon til this morning. And its odd the way I was beating it on big perm and crawfords that I only broke a lockout. Mel is in good spirits today. He actually washed it and is trying to find a pan. He is a little pissed the pan still leaks....considering a roofer did the patch. He wants to know how long the warranty is. Soooo, John???

That is the worst part of that trail now, I had to beat the hell out of it to get over it Friday night, about went over backwards a few times.

And yes it was amazing a lockout is all that went after high rpm(LT1) neutral drops...but oh so fun to watch.

And Josh needs to send the video of him in to alloy usa as a testiment to the strength of their D44 shafts. I can't believe a 31 spline 9" shaft let go before the front 44 did.

man creampuff puts my panties in a bunch. i just read about his ride on pirate, scary.

hope dave's feeling better, that night run was the most fun I've had in a long time... and it made a huge impression on the guys with me. Greg, thanks for the ride up (and partly down) Crawford's Cry, I'm still smiling.

stuff my group broke:
44 shafts/joint (that almost killed me)
yota birf.
yota rear axle (lost plug and toasted it)
cable for the locker on the mogs

is it normal for the bearings to scream in a turbo on a powerstroke?? the KY hills were rough on the excursion.

ok glad to hear everyone made it out ok.

I am shocked to see that no one has posted any pics yet. Night rides are fun but terrible for making pics or video. Can't enjy the beauty of the surroundings at night. I perfer day wheeling. Sounds like everyone had a good time so that makes it a good weekend of wheeling.

**** SPECIAL THANKS ********

To Rob and his brother for coming all the way to film what i hope is the first of a lot of wheeling footage in the southeast for the new DVD "DIRTY SOUTH" and join everyone for a great weekend of wheeling. I can't wait to buy the DVD in DECEMBER. :)

Greg...let me know if you see John doin' burnouts in my truck...:driver:

I wonder how is head feels (thought I was gonna say it didn't ya) today after that tumble off the deck over

btw...torn ligament in my shoulder, pulled muscle in my elbow, "possibly a fracture" in my hand at least that is what the doc said today

the 750 is semi repaired

I had a blast, but next time I recommend changing a U-joint with a fawked up shaft on the trail at 2am, kick me in the nuts.

We got home at 1:30am last night. Big thanks to Justin (aka UNBREAKABLE) and Mark for stepping up when a man is down.

I talked to John earlier today. He is OK.

DK

Good to hear. That fall off the truck while it was on the deck-over was nasty. Had fun riding back with you guys.

I definetly want that video Greg. Its probably the last time that jeep gets wheeled on half tons and a slap in the face to the next guy who calls a D44 a turd:lol:
Yeah and I quote John friday nite "we'll fix it right here man, 40-45mins and we're hittin this shit again":flipoff2:
Thanks for all the entertainment guys:beer:

Where's the pics on harlan I'm to lazy to drive across town and see it. He said he is alright just sore as hell when I talked to him this morning. Sounds like everybody had fun though.

As I said that night, I swore you had tons the way you were flogging that thing. I have never seen someone beat a 44 like that and it live.

i'm okay, buggy is looking a little rough. Doc say's i cracked i rib, bruised the others, sprained my wrist, got a pretty big bruise on my shoulder and a substantial knot on my head.
all in all i'm pretty happy to be alive!

thanks for all the calls to check on me. Hope to have it back together for windrock on the 11th.:bounce:

Our group broke...

Bryan- didnt break :shaking:

Dave - rear axle, 4 tires knocked off the beads and a fawked up buggy

Me- blew a tire off the bead, floped pretty hard, and messed up the 10.5 rear in the tow rig.

I think everyone is glad Dave is alright. I just wish everyone could have seen what Bryan and I did because it was one heck of a show. I can tell you the next time i hit creampuff in mine or anyone elses buggy i will have the 4 point harnesses on and will make sure everyone else in the rig does too. This sport is alot of fun but at times we need to step back and make wise decisions. I have no doubt that Daves fab skills in his cage and rig saved his life.

Holy shit, sounds like one hell of a trip!!

Did you take your "girl" on this trip Travis? And does anyone have pics of this weekend, i sax 35XJ's buggy and that thing looked like it went through HELL!

pics, video anything please. I didnt get to make it again this year :(

Im need to get a new rig built in a bad way
