It's been a long time since I had the Jeep out. Time for a good beatin. Last trip put a hurtin on it. Smacked a tree a speed and the front spring broke sending the driveshaft into the t-case and blow it up. I got a few new parts to test out on this trip.

-47 LTB's
-12 bolt Hummer wheels
-new t-case
-new front springs
-oil accumulator(sp?)
-rear veiw mirror
-glove box
-front pinion and bearings(cause I broke 4 teeth off it)
-front brake capiler(cause I broke one of the mounting tabs)
-maybe a few more tricks up my sleeve

Oh the trip.

We plan to get there mid-day on Thursday and wheel as much as possible. Planning on camping on top of Cream Puff. As of now 2 rigs going. So if anybodies looking to ride, come on. Hope to have good weather and good times!!!

Chris

Theres a small chance I may get up there Friday evening. How many spare shafts are you taking?:flipoff2:

I'm not gonna have mine back together by then:poop:
You gonna be headed back up for the shine crawl Chris?

I wont be able to make it either plans on sat. and going to windrock in sunday. Sounds like there should be a good show. :huggy:

Don't know about the Show and Shine. I'll have to see what it looks like after this trip. I'm takin 4 spare rear shafts, front driveshaft, rear driveshaft, 2 drive flanges, spare pinion, hydro lines. Lookin forward to beatin it up good.

How far is Windrock from Harlan?

Chris

Great trip. I got back late Sunday. No I didn't run out of spare parts, cause I didn't have to use any. I didn't think it was possible, but I didn't have to turn a wrench the whole trip. Amazed me, I must have sat on a golden horseshoe or something.

I will say this, Harlan has gotten harded, ALOT harder.

Crawfords Cry--now has a 6-4 foot leadge across the exit(I tried for 30min and winched)

Mason Jar----The ledge right after the big rock at the biggning is now 1 foot taller than it was. The secound group of rocks. The ledge there is now from 2-5 foot

Your Turn---the creek same-top rock has moved down and out making the hole by the tree on the right about 6 foot deep and 3-4 foot wide. The left line has 2 4 foot ledges that you hit at the same time. ( I tried it and ended up turning around)

Big Perm-----The bottom is about the same, the middle has some big holes about the size of 47's that are in the worst spots. ( I tried like hell on 2 different times, backed down both times)

Lion's Den---The start and the end have been dug on alittle, but for the most part it was about the same. I lost my clutch pedal coming down the dropoff and then drove halfway up the tree before I could kill it.

Under Estimated--I don't think anyone has tried this in a while. Striaght nastsy at the top.( I got to about 20 yards from the top and backed down at 5am )

Rail Bed---The waterfall at the bottom it huge and now about 15-20 foot wide. Try the exit on the left at the top

Pin Ball---Now you can crawl it with 33's

Cream Puff---Didn't get easier. The 1st group of rocks is twice as long and the banked turn at the bottom is now flattened out. The top looked to be alot better than it was, but I didn't get to see them.( I gave it a shoot, bouced good and the front right come up about 3 foot. 2nd try I shoot up the left bank and carried the front tires to the top of the rocks and then they lost traction and I slide back agian. I beat myself on that one and loaded it on the trailer.

Great times. I love my LTB's. At first I ran them at 10psi. The guys with my saw the wheels move inside the tires a few times so I was worried about that the whole time and didn't let any more air out until Sat night. At 2am sat night I lowered them down to 5-7psi and me and my rider-Adam-went out on a solo night run to break in some tires. Everybody else had gone to bed or broke. Hit the lower rock garden to see how the tires where doing and wow, what a difference. Hit a few more things and then headed to Under Estimated at 6am, just as the sun was rising. Hit it for the 1st time solo and made it to the top all but about 20-30 feet.

Look forward to the next trip.

Chris

How long has it been since you were there?

Little jagger is crazy now. I want to try it next time I go, but not sure I'll make it.

Creampuff likes a low center of gravity and speed.

Yeah, It's been a year since I've been there. I put my tires on Little Jagger, but the guy I was with had a fuel line come lose so we dealt with that and I never went back to it. It looked like I could make it up the far right side. If ya make that then take a right at the top and go up the trail that goes into Lower Damnation. I'm not sure of the name, but that is straight the hell up and now has 2 lines. Go right and you better be ready and in the gas--have a look at it for yourself.

Sorry no camrea. My rider took a happy snappy and my couisn took a video camera, but it turned out terrible. So sorry. You have to go see it for yourself to get a real feel for it, just make sure you eat your wheates

Sorry I missed it, me and Chris ended up leaving late and catchin some of the WEROC event, it was sweet, glad to here you had no breakage:beer:

Good write up on the trail/obstacle changes! I agree that most of them have eroded and gotten harder, especially Your Turn/Crawford's Cry and Lower Damnation.
