I am looking for an updated map of the trails to plan my runs at the NAXJA Crawl this summer. I have one from '07 but it does not have Lions Den on it and some other trails that I have heard the name of but not their location. I will buy one once I get there but I wanted to see if there was a pdf or smothing that I could look at and kinda pre plan the runs I'll be leading.

It's my understanding that there are none available to download because selling maps is one way they make money for trail maintenance.

That's right. They are not expensive and are much improved over the last year or so. Last weekend there was excellent signage and the trails were in awesome shape. Spend a few bucks to help with the park.

I do and will. I will not attemp to order one again like I did 2 years ago. I'll buy one when I get there. The last time I ordered it took months to get to me and I eventally had to call with the paypal code and get it sent to me. I thought there might be one that listed trail names and levels that I could at least pre plan with.

x2...there are a lot of new signs all over the park. I stopped and talked to the guy at the pay station and he said they are expecting even more before Southern Shine Crawl. Their sign guy ran out of materials before the AFD Crawl and will be back making more soon. Its made things much easier to find if you are unfamiliar with the park.

Since they are now charging and entry fee it would be nice if they provided a free digital map. They could still sell a nice professional copy for money.

That is a very good point. I don't mind paying for a good map but a digital one would make for planing an event much easyer. Especially since I have heard there are even more trials then when I was there in '07.

only problem with a digital map is everyone would print that off and not buy the printed map.

If the printed map was nice and mine was inkjet I'd sure buy a nice one when I get there. Laminated so it's waterproof would be nice.

Also home printed will be 8.5x11 and they could have a 11x14 which would be worth paying for.

Could, Would, Should...eh whatever. They provide us with one heck of a location to continue wheeling and they are proactive about making the park better for us. Pay for two maps: one to keep in your rig that first weekend then put the other one in the tow rig to take home and laminate.

exactly what I have done

They really are doing an amazing job with the marking of the trails. The sign guy was on Spring Break...don't let them lie to ya lol...

Just a FYI, Treasure oh SENAXJA ordered a map for each of the BOD. I posted to call if you did it on paypal bc you will never get them. He called and sure enough nothing was there. So he ordered them via phone. Happened to me two years ago and happend to him just yesterday. So if you order on line maps from them call them to confirm the map order. :shaking:

Do you think they would be against us creating a non-printable pdf of the map and making it available by request for nc4x4.com members in the future? I already have the adobe suite so I could easily do this. I'll talk to them while I'm up there this weekend. We could even password protect the pdf file and the download to make them feel extra secure. :p

The only rights they have for a map is the one they create. If you create one then you can do with it as you wish without their permission.
