pitbull rockers. im thinking of buying a set of 44's and trying them out. trail/rocks only. they are getting great reviews on pirate so i searched here but couldnt find anything local.

I currently have a set of the 44s that i cant wait to run... just gotta get the buggy built for it first.. only complaint so far is they are WIDE

Jeff B is running a set of 37s that used to be on Jdarrows's rig... I think someone around here has a set of 39s...

Ive heard nothing but good about them, and would like to hear Jeff's review...

At the farm I was at 8 psi & they worked great. I stayed on the rock pile & walked all over it with no problems. This Sunday I anm going to URE & plan to try them out at 5psi I'll update then. I am on 37" 15x8 bead lock. So far I will buy another set.

Also ran them in moutain city. other than the typical wheel base traps, did great

I have a guy I ride with that has a set of them about 37" or so. They are awefull! At 10 PSI he pops a bead on easy stuff and they get no traction. I think they have too much tread and work better as an AT tire than off road.

Haven't had the chance to get my 39's in the rocks yet, (got to finish my engine swap) but on the slick clay trails and deep bogs my F-150 has seen i've never had an issue with traction or unseating the beads at 8psi. I'm running the 39.5x16.50 on a 15x12 wheel.

I'm running 37" Pit Bull Rockers on recentered H1 bead lock wheels, and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. I read over on Pirate that 5 psi is the sweet spot for them, but I generally run mine at 8 psi with great results. I found that at 5 psi the tire squatted too much for my liking and I wasn't happy with how much clearance I lost, 8psi was much better. I can say that in the rocks the only time that I ever get hung up is when either the axles or undercarriage are hung, traction is never the limiting factor; I couldn't say that about my bias TSL's. My only regret is buying the 37" ones instead of the 39.5" size.

And Gubni, tell your buddy to buy bead locks!

That's me and I was running beadlocks and couldn't reliably keep an inner bead on the front with less than 10lbs the rear I could run 3lbs just fine.. I've switched to 40 Iroks and Staun internals now. Pver all the tires would flex good and had good traction but I wanted 40's and reliability so I switched.

I have no personal experience with them but I've talked to several people out west. It seems to be half and half, many have blown inner beads with beadlocks. It seems to be a common problem with those tires.

I had the 35 14.50s and they were pretty kick ass. Too wide for me but they still flexed really awsome for beging brand new

I used to run the 37s on my yota. Ran them at URE and Harlan they did great. The only reason I got rid of them was to go bigger, and they didnt make bigger tires yet. Once my TSL wear out, I will go back to pitbulls.

Where did you hear about the price increase? Id better order. Ive been waiting for tellicoonmymind to get back to me with a quote. Would rather give my $$ to a serviceman, than to a dealer I dont know. Does anyone know this guy? Says hes active duty, so maybe he cant respond to my pm, hmm:confused:
They now have 42's. Debating on trying a set. They are having a tire price increase the first of the year, so I get them now...............

He came and picked up some wheels a couple of weeks ago that he paid for almost 2 months ago. He had just got back in the States. He did mention something about moving from Savannah to Atlanta so maybe he's in the middle of that. I've got to call him anyways so if I can find his number I'll get him to check his PM's.

sorry, not to hijack the thread, but I couldn't help but laugh at this from the pirate thread

The tread pattern makes me think they will be very loud. How are they on the street?

then he follows up with..

It's a rockcrawling tire :shaking:
Is it not DOT legal? Krawlers are a rockcrawing tire that see street miles? What am I missing here?

is that really a big concern that people have when picking an aggressive tire for OFFROAD?
