I've googled it, but see all kinds of numbers for the weight of a TJ. Has anyone here actually put their TJ on a set of scales? If so, what was the weight and what does your TJ have? I am looking at buying a trailer, so knowing an approximate weight would help decide if a 7,000 lb trailer is sufficient, knowing the trailer probably weighs around 2,000 lbs.
My TJ has the 4.0 with 5 speed, 35s, and ford 9"/HP44.

There is a scale right next to Carmax in Greensboro if you ever got out this way.

My advise, go a little bigger, never know what you might stumble upon and it doesn't hurt to have a bigger trailer.

My TJ D60 front and D60FF rear and 38's w/HEAVY H1 wheels was around 5300#'s if I remember right. Thats with tools and junk, 60" hi lift, warn 8274 and some fuel. A more reasonable wheel/tire combo easily takes 2-300#'s off that.

8 lug 44 frt 60ff rear, winch, no spare, I keep it pretty empty, 37" krawlers and h2s, 4400#

3750 lbs. Dana 60/44, 36"Tsl, champion beadlocks, RE long arm 4.5 lift, bikini top, canvas half doors, Speed-Glass polycarbonate windshield, Warn bumpers w/o tire carrier, 8274 w/ Master Pull line, a/c removed including plumbing and rad, Sparco suprelight seats, no rear seats, spare on the ground, custom fuel tank.

02 tj, with 4.0 5 speed, d30/d44 half tank of gas my fat ass (200 lbs) and 33s was 3950

My pretty built up TJ (cage, armor, etc) on Rubi 44s with 37"s and a spare weighs in around 4,350 with the doors on.
