Hey,
I think I just sent a reply instead of a new posting. OH well, first timers disease. I have been wheelin' twice now with my buds at uwharrie, and got the fever. I have a tough decision to make. I have a pristine low mileage 99' wrangler, and some cash saved up for parts. My mechanic has a 89 f-250 that someone abandoned at his garage that I can get at a good price. Which way would you guys go, jack up the jeep, or strip down the f-250?

Strip the F-250 sale the parts for more then you paid for the truck then you have more money for the Jeep.

No wait strip the truck and then put the driveline under the Jeep.

N NO wait buy the truck make it a tow rig and then build the Jeep.

No leave the truck alone and just build the Jeep then buy a tow rig later.

Looks like my ADHD is kicking, OH look a quarter better pick that, hello puppy come, wow that is a big bird, in again.

I would rather have a tow rig first that way if you want to build the jeep slowly you still have transportation. Things can go wrong during a build and then you could be stuck with out transportation. Just my 2 cents

Considering the abandoned truck probably doesn't have a title, and it would be a pain to get one, I'd take it for the parts. Build it to wheel? Not around here I wouldn't. Next time you're at Uwharrie with your friends, take a look at how narrow and twisty some of the trails can get. Now imagine those in a full-size! Yeah, it can be done, but I like smaller trucks in the woods and hills around here. Besides, you remember the saying, "the bigger the truck, the bigger the stuck!"

You'll want those axles when you try to put big 'ol tires on the Jeep!
