head gasket

I'm gonna start putting my 22r back together tonight.....Do I need to use any kinda of gasket sealer when putting my head gasket on? This is the first one that I've done.

Just make sure the block and the head are clean. I usually put a little rvt around the timing cover area only.

head is fresh from the machine shop and I cleaned with block with a wirewheel

sealer where the timing cover, head and block meet, just a dab on each side. and sealer on the bottom of the half moon plugs before putting the valve cover on.

I can't find my chiltons......does anyone know the throque specs for the cam caps? They caps are numbered 1,2,3. Does it start with number one at the front or back? Do the arrows point to the front of back?
