Headed to Beech Mountain

So we are headed to Beech Mountain next Friday to go tubing. As of right now, we are going to do a morning session and then do a cosmic session that night. If we did an earlier session in the morning and then waited to go to cosmic tubing at 6 that evening. Is there enough to do at the resort to kill about 6 hours in between our sessions? or leave and explore around then come back. Wife and daughter will not ski or snowboard, so I am not even going to mess with that.

Ride down to Banner Elk or Newland and volunteer somewhere. There's still a ton of people in the area in a seriously bad spot. Or by the time you eat lunch, go shop in Valle Crucis or Boone, eat dinner, and go back, you'll have easily burned 6hrs.
