Im looking to upgrade the old 6054 sealed beam headlights on my 94 pickup. Torn between LED or an H4 housing.

H4 housing and bulbs are cheaper for initial buy and cheaper to fix.

LED is less amp draw and seem to be brighter.

What have y’all done and recommend?

I installed H4 conversion housings and bulbs on my cj. I also installed a relay setup to run higher wattage bulbs.
The led bulbs have come down a lot recently. I installed a led set on a customers fj40 and they are real nice. I believe he ordered them from city racer. LED Headlights for Land Cruiser FJ40 FJ55 Mini-Truck - Set of 2
I guess you could get the h4 housings and run h4 LEDs too.

I had the hella H4 housing with PIAA leds in them. Didn’t like it because they cast a terrible light pattern the way the actual leds are mounted on each side of the bulb. I went back to standard bulbs in the H4 housing and it’s great.

I'm a big fan of E spec H4 housings with standard bulbs. The higher wattage bulbs put out more light, but it's not really linear, and they don't shine any further. The higher wattage ones also burn out faster.

Another h4 conversion recommendation here. Did it to my fairlane and dads c10.

The relay harness by itself made a huge difference on my 87 4runner, looking forward to your results.

Crappy pics but you can tell the difference on my daughters bike basket and that blue handle. This was just on the battery, truck wasn’t running. Sealed beams weren’t very sealed anymore.
