i have a 78 k10 i have a really bad vibration goin down the road around 45 its so bad that some times i have to pull over and then go on down the road i replaced the tie rod ends and had a front end alighnment done i now some trucks do this with worn tires but i got a set of thornbirds with half tread ive pretty much tried everything i can think of does anyone know what this could be the tires? ball joints? i really dont know what the hell to try i have noticed that my transfer case shifter also moves a lil bit when this occurs but i dont think mounts would cause front end problems would they?

you didnt mention anything about it, but have you had the tires balanced? Yes, out of balance tires can do this. I just put new-to-me 80% tread tires on my XJ, it felt like it was gonna shake to death. Next day, I drove strait to the tire shop for balancing, picked it up and life was good.

tire rotation

before balancing, save yourself some money and just swap the tires front to back. if vibration goes away.......you have a tire problem, and you will feel the vibes coming from the back of the truck. but at least the steering wheel will quit shaking.....if it's still happening, start checking the rest of the front end componets....hth

loose trac bar?

never mind....leaf spring front suspension. had ford on the brain.

x2

My Samurai use to shake so badly I would almost have to come to a stop to make it go away. Sometimes you could power through it since it only happened at about 25-35mph. I had the tires balanced, and now it is as smooth as glass.

ill try the balancing then theyre used tires so that may be the problem i jacked the front up and shook the wheels theyre wasnt much play in them so i dont think its the ball joints appreciate the help
