You might try to wiggle the shifter while cranking. Maybe the park neutral switch is loose or going bad. Could also be the ignition switch not actually making contact in there all the time. The turn signal thing makes me think it's in the column someplace. Honestly, it's a GM product, don't you just throw those away at 100k and pop the top on a new one?
