So I bought a 95 4popper with 120k on the clock about 2 mo ago.
Shifted great etc. Well about a week ago I noticed that when I let the clutch out in neutral it was hissing alil bit. Not really noticable but once I heard it I could pick it out. Well took the jeeps first roadtrip about 2 hours down the road yesterday. All was well and I started taking off from a light and the clutch stuck for a second and I lurched out giving a good lil jolt. Take off from the next light and everytime I put the clutch in it squeels like a pig. Ive never heard a squeel like this. Its rough getting into first and reverse but can shift the rest fine. Sound like a burnt out clutch? pita to replace?

sounds like your throw out bearing, but typicaly people install a whole 'clutch set' while in there.. clutch disk, pressure plate and throw out. If the fly wheel is good and hasn't been damaged or has hot spots you may be able to run it.. If not have it surfaced or get a new one..

is it a PITA ? That depends on your tools on hand and your abilities..
