Looks like a Dana 60 to me, but I've been told it's a possible Sterling.

60.

Maybe 70.

Definitely a Dana, and not a Ford.

if it came from a dually then it would deff be a 70 but i believe that is a 60

It's in Massachusetts. A buddy of mine bought it online

Ahh! You beat me to it!
I've got one exactly like it from a 76 F-250 and was wondering the same thing. The center section is cut up WAY more than a standard 60. ALOT more webbing. I like the cool webbing along the side of it on the driver's side. Very unique and stout looking!
Mine's VERY narrow like 54" b-b. There are absolutely no markings on mine even on the side gussetts. I've cleaned it down to bare metal. Not even a BOM to be found? I was going to just pop it open one day to see. I was wanting to drop a 60 detroit in mine if it would fit.
I figured it was a 60 but was worried it was a 61! Still wondering if it is? Don't think my detroit will fit if it's a 61?

More webbing = D61 from my experience. Still, it should have either 60 or 61 cast on the web and you can always check the BOM on line.

One drum, one disc??

The giveaway for D61 is often ratio, too. The whole point of the D61 was to move the pinion over so they could run taller gears. If it's 2.75 or something equally stupid, it's probably a D61.

There are D60HD centers, too. Those have a lot more webbing along the sides than a regular 60 casting.

Got a BOM#? Here's the before and after of my rear 60 I got out of a '78 F250. Seems to have fair amount of webbing...

I think it comes with part of a disc brake conversion kit

*oh yeah, it's supposed to be 4.10 geared...what is the BOM#?

I'll post more pics tomorrow if bowtie55 don't beat me to it. The webbing is VERY unique from the regular 60. Mine don't have a BOM on the axle tube or a 60/61 stamped on the bottom center side gussetts. And mine's 4.09 gears or something near. Front 44HD is 4.09. Took a 60 cover and it matched perfectly. Mine's missing the dang tag too.
And I thought I had the only one like it. Guess I got to buy the one from bowtie55 now. LOL

another way to tell if its a 61 is if the bottom is flatter then a typical 60 (almost like its shaved). they ran as low as 4.10 in the 61, and with spacers and what not, u can run d60 stuff in them.... there should be a d61 thread on here somewhere

looks to me like a 70 def a difference. a lot more webbing on bowtieman's axle pic than on jonski's, especially on the left side which tells me its a 70, could be a 61 but ive never seen a 61 before
