Hello all. I'm new to this forum and new to 4-wheeling as well. I joined a few months back and have just been reading for awhile, now I need some help.
I was wondering if there was someone close to Raleigh, NC that may have a few hours available this weekend (or an upcoming weekend) to help me with my Jeep. Specifically, someone with working knowledge of carburetors and ignitions (which isn't me obviously). I've got an '88 YJ that I put a MC 2100 and TFI ignition on a year ago and am having serious problems with it now (running extremely rich, hard starts, stalls) and could really use a set of experienced hands to help me get this thing dialed in properly and running as it should. I have tried to do it myself but haven't had much luck (I can't always apply something that I have read, I usually have to see it done to get it right).
I would greatly appreciate anyone's help. I can supply cold beer and a garage to work in. Thank you in advance.

I don't think I am able to come out there but i also did the carb swap and the TFI upgrade. I love it. I had the same problem about 3 months ago. (when it started to get cold). I found that it was my choke. I switch to a manual choke. Works great!! Also check the idle screws. I have found that the 2100/2150 will work its way out time to time. I would turn them all the way in(not tight). Then two full turns out. With the jeep running slightly turn them in till you here the rpm's start to drop. Then 1/4 turn back out. Best to do this with new plugs and test drive it. Then check you plugs to see if its running lean or rich. This might not be the best way but its how I did mine and it runs great and gets good gas mileage. I hope this helps.

what jets you runnin? i have 47s in mine and they run very nice.

I believe they are 47's as well.
I tried turning them in until the rpm's dropped but I couldn't get it to work correctly. The engine would cut out on me, there was no slight drop off. It either ran or shut off. I know that I have other issues but I have yet to find them. Thanks for the advice, I will give it another shot.

I will be around if you want me to look at it I can't spend alot of time but I can give it a shot. just pm me
