Hey fellow NC4x4 members, I know most members on here have a big heart and they will go out of their way to help others out. I am in the need for an older car that does not run and that could be donated. I am the President of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at North Carolina State University, and we are trying to organize a "wack a car" The car will be at our house and on a particular date we will let people "wack" the car with a sledge hammer for a small charge of $1. The money we raise will go to a charity (not 100% sure what one yet) and then we will take the car to get $$ for scrap metal to also turn into a donation.

If you have any ideas on where I can locate a car, or if you are in the raleigh area and would like to help out. (have a car hauler to take car to scrap yard) any help would be appreciated. I know for fact if you help your company's name or your own name will get a shirt and possibly a banner.

Please give me feedback on anything.
-If you can help
-If you have a car or can get a car for us to use
- If you would be interested in sponsoring our event.

I know some people on here will say that "frat" boys are no good losers, and some people might have reasons to think that. But really fraternities build life long connections, and leadership skills needed to be the best man one can be.

Thank you guys for everything!! :wheel:

Scott,
I am sure I can work out hauling the car away for you once you are done. I will talk to Chase but I think we could take care of that.

Thanks guys, Just to clear up a few things we are in Raleigh, and would take the car to a local scrap yard to get what ever we could and then donate the rest of that to charity. I believe the money we get from the scrap yard will be majority of the money that is donated. unless we get a couple hundred people to pay a buck to beat the car with a sledge.

Thank you guys for getting back with me!

good ole arp...
The Ag fraternity...

never was in a frat but lost several nights in their house in Clemson...gotta admit when the house burned down I was a little relieved knowing the walls would never be able to talk...;)

100% to the charity? Or, do you keep some off of the top? I know we used to with our fraternity fund raisers at ECU :D We had to, we had time and $$ invested and we needed $ too :)

I know some racers that could use that kind of body work to their rig, it might make it a little nicer looking! :D

Whack the car in sections and save the best for last. Keeps the crowd around longer and set a price goal for each section. $15 a quarter panel, $10 a door and $10 for a mirror, $15 a window! Have safety glasses on hand! Good luck.

Thanks for the Ideas guys and yes Ron, the house at clemson sure had tons of history, but i have seen the plans for their new house and they will have it made.

All the money will be going to charity. Possibly a few bucks to cover the price for shirts. Once we get all the sponsorships confirmed i can send a proof out so people if interested can pre-order the shirts.

And yes this is a good time if you have a local shop or something like that to get free advertising.
Thanks to everyone for the strong response and Ideas!! keep them coming.

Do a bidding process for whoever gets to bust out the windows and windshield Thats worth more than $1 And if its for charity someone may pay $15-$20

The only problem with the windows is for NC State Universities, "Risk Management" we have to remove all glass, mirrors. tail lights & head lights. But I think we can work something out with the "bidding"
