Picked up a chunk of metal in a tire this morning. Discount tire wouldn't fix it.

2016 ram 2500

Would you plug it yourself?
Buy 1 new tire?
Buy 2 new tires so they match side to side?

Truck tire, trailer tire, does it haul your wife and kids?

Tires look good enough to only buy one tire and roll on.

I'd go to a big truck tire shop like snider tire and have them fix it with a patch plug.

Looks to me like it’s in that last sipe next to a shoulder. A lot of tire shops won’t plug those.

Patch plug x whatever. I've fixed a bunch at work that way.

I'd stick a plug in it and roll. If it doesn't leak, you'll be fine. If it leaks, then think about a new tire.

I found a place that would patch it this afternoon. Back up and running.

Thanks for the advice, feel better about the patch job now.

It's on the back and I seldom tow. Never tow heavy. (No I dont need a 2500, but i like it)

Especially the wrong ones.

And I wouldn't be scared of towing with a patch plug in a tire. I've done it before.

Just keep an eye on it for a busted band.

I see you already patched it (which is what I would have done) but why don't you swap it out fore the spare. That way you only have to run it in an emergency situation.

I have after market wheels and 35" toyo at's, the spare is factory stuff.
