I have a Dana 44 which I am running the 6 stud spindles off of a 10 bolt or 8 lug dana 44 from a 250. Is there any hub/rotor combonation that you may know of that will let me run 5 on 5.5 but also have the bigger inner bearing 2.0" diameter. I have been looking at a 83 ramcharger but am not quite sure.

if it helps my bro runs ramcharger outers on his EB D44. they give him 5 on 5.5 but the EB has smaller u-joints thant he dodge so now he has to get some custom axles made. maybe that helped?

I remember looking for a way to use ford 5.5, 5 lug hubs on a set of waggy 44 spindles when I built my EB 44 that is in my ranger. But I never found a spindle that would work with the ford hub. I ended up buying a set of spindles and steering knucles from a disk brake bronco. You might want to look around on some of the bronco sites, they do this swap alot.

Its all about the brakes... Alot of combos will work but the brakes is what fawks it all up

why not run the chevy small bearing spindles? why do you insist on the big bearing? The fords use the small bearings in the hubs you will be running, so i dont see why the chevys would be any weaker.

ill try the ramcharger hubs, as for the spindles question Im trying to put together an axle which was 8 lug but im running a 9" rear. Its a mess I would change if I did it over but im tryin to get through without buying new knuckles/spindles.

I'm doing the same thing right now, but haven't put it all together yet. This has been done a number of times on Scouts to upgrade to internal hubs and better brakes. Use Chevy small-bearing spindles, brakes, and stub with Ford hubs and rotors. If you're buying new, tell the parts store you're looking for parts for a '75 1/2 ton Chevy and a '79 Ford F150.

why dont you just trade all the 8 lug outers for 5 lug stuff and be done with it? its all to simple . there are guys everywhere with 5 lug stuff wanting to convert to 8 lug . so just trade with someone. if i knew this earlier , i would have swapped with you.
