My buddy wants me to install a 3" Spacer lift on his 09 JK. I tried to talk him out of the straight spacer lift but he chose not to listen.

1.) Since all he bought was the spacers and is tight on money I will need to make some brake line drop brackets, (Do I need to drop it 3" or can I get by with less?)

2.) Also how will the trac bar fair with no drop brackets?

3.) I have an XJ so I have leafs in the rear, since the JK has coils how much roll will he get if we remove the sway bay in rear?

4.) If there are any more issues with this I am not anticipating please let me know?

Thanks

I just installed a 3" coil spring lift on my '12 jk 2 door. You will definitely need drop brackets front and rear for the brake lines. He will need a drop bracket for the rear track bar, and a adjustable front track bar. It took me and another tech at the shop with a heavy ratchet strap and a lift to shift the front axle back over so I could drive it, until I bought an adjustable bar. It can be done, with some muscle. I haven't had any issues yet. I wouldn't take the rear sway bar off. I drove from the trailhead at uwharrie to the outpost ( not far), and had some SERIOUS death wobble with the sway bars disconnected. But body roll isn't really bad in mine. Now just get out there and have fun!
