If this is true, then the homos you loaned your stuff should be beaten. However, there is the possibility of unforeseen circumstances.

Hope you get your stuff back, thanks from me, and I hope that you continue to help people out cause the world needs more people like you.

What kind of vehicle were they in? We can all be on the look out for them....Mike is truely a good guy and I'm sorry this happened to you...What tools did you loose? We might all have some spares we could send you to make up for them...It sounds like they are the wrong kind to be four wheeling...

Hey Mike, were these guys racers? If so, maybe I can track them down for ya. You know we still have addresses and alot of contact numbers for the racers. Let me know if I can help.

Yes Racers

Well as far as the tools .It was just 5 deep well snap on inpack Sockets and one 30mm cheap transfree case socket. 1/2 drive ratchet .Thats not a big deal.I just think if you nice emought to help someone you should get screwed out of like 200.00 in tools

This sucks man, you helped me out one time in uwharrie when i was broken down, and i was very tkankful you did. Some people take kindness for granted. Ill be lookin for that mall crawler zj.

is that armor all on his tires?

poor dog has to live with a tool thief... he's probibally an irresponsable pet owner too!!

is he the guy that lost his axle and held the race up for an hour and a half?

that sucks... if i'm ever out there and I break down, I won't steal your tools if ya help me i'll buy you some beer

I’m very sorry to hear that some of your tools have gone AWOL – but I’m even sorrier to learn that the behavior of one individual has left such a foul taste in your mouth that you are no longer willing to lend a hand to a stranded off-roader.

I understand where you’re coming from, but there are an awful lot of truly good folks out there who would be eternally grateful for your assistance (and *not* make-off with any of your tools).

Perhaps, in-time, you will reconsider...
(especially if the stranded motorist just happens to me a Jeep Girl Hottie ;) )

Cheers!

Nope. That was this guy, and I'm pretty sure it was more like 45 minutes...

Just to add...these guys were on the trail, fixing this jeep, when I came through on trash pick up..last thing Sunday.
They worked and worked and actually drove this thing out(maybe it was towed) but anyway, they had this thing off the trail by late Sunday eve. after a LOT of hard work. After some folks thought, and started a rumor that they had abandoned the jeep. I sure was glad to see them with it on a trailer and heading home with it. I dont think they are the tool thieves.

Mike that sux man you help everyone you can and it is a great thing you do and most others should follow your example.
With saying that and knowing the price of professional grade(yeah yeah GM slogan) tools he should have returned them to you. There is the chance of this happening anytime a tool is lent out which is why I only lend out my HF and Northern tools not my Snap On, Matco or Cornwell tools on the trail. Iv'e been burned on this in the past a few times and even by friends.

I only loan out tools to a couple of good friends, who also loan me stuff. Anybody else that (rarely) gets to borrow something (w/o me being right there) I hold something they'll want/need back. I usually ask for a driver's license, that way I have their name and address (and photo ID so I know it's them). Only been refused on that a couple of times.

I work on a lot of volunteer-type service projects, and there is always somebody coming up from another group wanting to borrow something I got. (I'm the guy that shows up to replace a lightbulb with a pickup and trailer full of every tool I could possibly need to build a house, just in case.)
