Well my jeep is under the knife again.
Mods to come
5.2 MPFI swap
-shackle reversal and flip the front waggy springs around for about 4" more wheelbase in the front
-new rear crossmember and move spring hangers back about 4", this will put my wheelbase at about 110", I was not happy with the 102" it allways seemed like I needed more wheelbase on steep climbs
-astro steering box and hydro assist
-add more to the existing cage and make seat mounts off the cage with new seats
there are a bunch of other little things that will come also

anyways here are some crappy progress pics. as some of you know my jeep started life as a 2.5 4 banger, I swapped in the 4.0, wasn't happy and wanted more power, so here comes the 5.2

its sitting in there now, I used the novak conversions Motor mounts, which to say they fit like crap is an understatement, but with a few minor mods I got them to fit well and I like the fact they alow me to raise and lower the engine if I choose to do so

ordered the clocking ring an adjustable fuel pressure regulator yesterday. Plan on a completely flat belly that goes from front spring hanger to rear spring hanger. Also I am hoping I can use my stock 4.0 fuel pump with the adjustable fuel pressure regulator

nice. keeping the 318 stock or what? what trans? 46re?

Lee appears to be building his rig at work.:shaking:

I'm probably gonna regret this but it is the Monro Muffler Brake & Service on hillsborough rd.

Now get back to work Lee and make me some money.:huggy:
Just Kidding, looks good and man you work quick.

I did the actual motor swap at work, the jeep is now back home where I will do all the finish work.
Motor is stock for now, I am gonna start with the free mods such as cutting down the intake runners and doing a port job on the stock throttle body, after that,
I will see how I like it and possibly add headers, 52mm throttle body, M1 intake, and 1.6 RR down the road, I have those things done to the motor in my Ram (along with a few other secrets :) and the fact it is a 5.9, or used to be :huggy: ) and it runs very well
As far as the tranny it is a 44re, I will see how it holds up also and maybe swap in something else down the road. I got the drivetrain dirt cheap from a wrecked 97 grand cherokee so I am gonna see how it does to start and work out the bugs from there

here are pics of a moddified stock intake manifold on the right, stock on the left. On the magnum motors there is a plenum plate on the bottom of the intake manifold (notorious for leaking) that allows you to access the inside of the intake. From what alot of the dodge guys says doing this makes a huge difference in throttle response. Guess I will try and find out

sounds like me and you have done the same mods, ive just taken longer. i am building me a 360 with about 375hp and an auto.
looken good with the jeep.

oh, and the adjustable fuel regulater. what PSI does it go down to? and how much was it because all the ones i saw were around 100$

it does make a nice difference. my stock barrell intake has fairly extensive porting/cutting done on it that i did when the plenum gasket failed. nice improvement. you can get alot of material out of the stock tb also.

for a crawler, i wouldn't reccomend the m1. the gains just aren't there on the low end, even with a turtle imo.

Have you got any other info on this mod? I am looking at replacing this plenum gasket soon on my 96 Grand and this appears to be mod I would like to do to it while Im in there....
so if there is a link to a site or some other pics, that would be great.
