Looks like the 10k one I got from eBay for $330. Mine just came with made in china sticker. No brand at all. I think mines pretty fast and I have used it a pretty good bit pulling people out. Pulled several people at the pits the other weekend.

^^^ His 10k winch pulled out our longbed chevy that was pretty damn stuck, no problems, line speed seemed pretty damn good.

Yeah, the old style HF (Chicago) always got good reviews. Couple of the magazines did pull off's a couple years back & it did better than most of the expensive ones (they just said line speed was slow, but I could live with that). I'll wait till it go's on sale then use a 20% coupon & add the warranty. Should cost around $500 with warranty ($400 with out), hell maybe even less than that.

May have to swing by HF this weekend & use the ole 25% off July 4th coupon since they got their 12,000lb version on sale for $399. 12,000lb winch @ $299 (w/coupon)=deal of the day

Any follow up on this? I been looking at these and doing the planning stage of my Tacoma build up. I have a family to support so bachelor $$ is not in my budget. Thinking the 8k or 9k range should do.

My son bought the badlands 12k winch and then sold his jeep without ever installing it. Paid for the extended warranty too. Still brand new in box. He's wanting to get some money back for. Harbor freight says no refund after 30 days without receipt and he is learning that lesson the hard way

At that far a drive, not sure the price requested would equal out the cost..

Been looking for one to play with...but too cheap to even pay HF prices. If he has a number in mind, shoot me a note.

I don't know how I feel about HF winches. I have them on my trailer, first one I must have used over 200 times with very minor issues with overheating. Finally it burned up. That is a lot of use out of a cheap winch though. The next one lasted 91 days and about a half dozen uses. 90 day warranty, I was SOL. I need a new one and I am torn between another HF or a Smittybilt XRC.

Ive had 2 smittybilt winches on 2 different rigs. I also wheel with 4 guys that have smittybilt winches. There's a couple different models between us and we have had 0 troubles. For the money, hands down the way to go.

I love my Smittybilt. Its the 12000 lb X2O with the synthetic line. Pulled me out a couple of times, pulled others out a few more times, and has been a great tool for moving downed trees and such.
