Just ordered one of these, on sale for $30. Mainly bought it to eventually get the motorcycle tire attachment, but after doing a little research, a few guys on pirate have them and have strengthened the bar, and the bead breaker part and they work fairly decent.

It may not be the greatest, but it's gotta be worth the $30 for the occasional weekend tire change when i can't get to a shop.

I have one and yes, once they are strengthened they are worth it.
Take an old Receiver, cement it in the ground, put an insert end on the tire changer and you have an anchor point that you can put the changer in for use, then remove and store in the garage. Also works for tube bender.

Now that's thinking! :beer: I wonder how hard it would be to hammer out a hole in the shop floor for this. I've been using mine unbolted for a while, and whereas it works, it's no fun. I didn't want studs sticking up out of the floor, this is a great idea.
 
X2, better than nothing for sure :) I've had one for years, mounted to my trailer. I've used it numerous times on different sized tires and it works good for what it is. You wouldn't want to do several sets at a time but for the occasional job it works fine.
 
I have one and have used it alot. If you have nice shiny rims, it may scratch them. Using it will be workout, but you get used to it. Remember to have soapy water handy, it makes it easier to work the tire. And you are mounting LARGE tires, makes sure you have a buddy around to get the tire and wheel off the changed once you mount them, They get heavy real quick.
 
you coudl recess the receiver if you made the hole a bit bigger...

cutting concrete is easy with a concrete saw (you can rent them pretty cheap) or you could use a jack hammer attach thingy for a harbor freight hammer drill :)
 
i have one and it worked great until it wripped a hole thru the asphault in my driveway....oops, cement would prolly be alot better...also its a pain to do a large tire haha...its definitly alot cheaper than taking tires to a shop to get done...good luck with it
 
i have one as well. Here is how i mounted mine. I took a 5/8" coupler. Basically looks like a long nut. I took a 5/8 that was about 1/2" long and put it into the coupler along with a washer. I then proceded to use my angle grinder and a diamond blade to but 3"x3" square holes in my concrete. chisled out the concrete that was left in the hole. I then put the coupler in the hole with the bolt and washer down the in bottom. Then I filled the hole with concrete anchor mix. Rated about 90,000 psi. (Stuff is awesome) Then you can just use a 5/8 bolt to bolt the thing down and when you are done it just unbolt and you don't have anything sticking up or catching your feet.
