I know this is an easy bolt on upgrade, but I'm excited about it and thought I'd share. I got my steering components from Trail Gear today and with help from your and my buddy HardTaco, got it bolted up and working great!
Out with the old:

In with the new:

Installed the steering arms:

Installed the Pitman Arm:

Then bolted up the tie rod and drag link, set the toe with a tape measure and ended up with this:

We took it for a quick spin down the street and it steered like a Cadillac! What a big improvement.

Muchas gracias to el Choco Taco for all of the help, I sure appreciate it buddy!

sweet, the high steer is a great upgrade. Have any trouble with the TRE's accepting grease?

Might want to get the left wheel stuffed, it looks like you might get the drag link binding against the tie-rod... just how it looks in those pics..

Yeah, I'm a little worried about some drag link/tie rod interferance. Hopefully I'll get a chance to flex it out this weekend to check clearances. It's gonna be close.

newbie question, what does get the left wheel stuffed mean, and what will that do?

Rich means to cycle the suspension, stuffing the left wheel into the fender well, and letting the other side droop. He wants Dan to do this so he can see if the tie rod and drag link will hit when that side is stuffed. Technically it should barely miss it, since the axle will move back when it stuffs(since the shackle is on the rear of the springs). Hope that helps....

flexing the front suspension in such a way that the front, left wheel is compressed into the fender as far as possible. Full stuff = springs are compressed as far as possible. Full droop/drop = springs are extended as far as possible.

Edit: Damnit, Josh... beat me to it.

You have to use Metric grease - They are FJ-80 TRE's. :flipoff2:

Luckily, most all of our products here at work are Metrified, so hopefully I'll be able to bring some Metric grease home. I might even be able to borrow a metric adjustable wrench too. :D
