any reason you cant do this with just heim joints? any other ideas on the cheap that hold up?

Swaybar links like for an aftermarket speedway motors type bar or for a jeep quick disco type setup? Heims are the only way to go for an add-on swaybar.

lifting a TJ and putting in a D44, starting from scratch other than the stock swaybar. trying to figure out the best (cheapest) way to get the connector shaft - go female heim and B7 allthread? or male heims and tap some tube? or is there an industrial threaded tube that I can order to size? when I was building machines, I ran across tie bars that could be ordered tapped and cut to length on the cheap but I cant find them anymore. just hunting ideas now since we want to do the front and rear. whats a good pin option? whats the best way to connect to the existing bar? etc.

The allthread has been done and works fine. I personally used some cheap 1/2" heims that I already had, welded a 1/2" nut to each end of a piece of 1/2 or 3/4" pipe and was done with it. Came out to about $0. Could also use swedged tractor links if you wanted. Not really a whole lot of stress on the swaybar links so no need to go all out.
