Homemade Shocks

Needed some custom shocks to mount my one piece fiberglass front on CJ.

I have to admit, i'm lost too. What purpose are they going to serve?

is the CJ front end going to flip forward like a semi truck and this is what the cables pull against so it doesn't crack the fiberglass?
 
I guess you'd havto see it in person to see their purpose. The front is one piece(hood, fenders) total weight is about 60 lbs.,including line-x. It has 2 mounting points @ bottom directly under headlights. Just trying to mount with something to absorb the shock and still be ridgid and allow the front to swivel. Shocks have about 2.5'' of soft travel! Will post in my build thread when mounted.

don't know if it would suit your needs but there are two different shock options on a scag mower they aren't cheap but might be what
your looking for....
