I got an '04 Honda Accord that the paint is dull. Many years ago before clear coat I detailed cars but that technology is long gone. I only had some cleaner wax to test on it and it cleaned up some but what will be the best compound/polish to get as much haze off of it as possible? It's a grey paint and I don't expect miracles. I don't have a buffer and hope not to get that involved in it. It will be a run around car for my 83 year old father but I want it cleaned up good before I give it to him.

Back in the day i used my moms mop & glow on my faded out 55 chevy it would look good and last all weekend.
Depends of the condition of the clear coat if it dead or just dulled. If it is dead you will have to paint it if dulled you can hand rub it out but it will be alot of work it would be easier to buff with a machine if it is savable.

All civics and accords of that generation have failing clear coat. I'm sure maaco could do a roof sand/reclear for cheap
