I build stuff for these guys;
www.sawalumberjacks.com
One of them brought his new saw over last week, that thing was beautiful. He said the chain is around $50 a foot for it, this one is based off of a Rotax engine. His last saw was Kawasaki dirt bike powered and the other one prior to it was a world champion saw.

THAT IS AWESOME. I am big into chainsaws. Around 30 and counting.
A bike saw is on my wish list. I have a ol 360 yamaha motor sittin in the shop right now. But it would be a heavy brute.

So did you get to run it? :)

Contact those guys on the SAWA website, you can just run hotsaw and stocksaw if you like. They have people who only do certain events like saw's and axe throwing, etc. Contact Daryl, Jimmy or Wayne - That's the ones I usually deal with.

We didn't crank it in the garage and it was raining outside, but, it was pretty heavy feeling to me. He said the grind on the chain was illegal in some series but not theirs.

Is there any sport that involves an engine that does'nt cost a fortune to participate in???

Hey Scott Trey just mentioned today that there is an event coming up over in sugar creek sometime in march. Any chance you'll be there? Ive been wanting to check it out so Im gonna try to make it.

Badass.

Where is this? He didn't say anything about it, but I didn't know to ask him, they travel to compete in other series when not doing there own.

SPYKOSSHOW - NC State has a forestry team, they've contacted me before. They don't do hot saw though, mainly forestry events and cross cut kind'a stuff, Montgomery Community College and Haywood Community College have teams also in NC. The college teams are in "conclaves" and "forestry clubs". The colleges and pro's are on ESPN2 sometimes.

Stock Saw is just handling, no modded saws, but it just ain't the same. I like anything modded/hot rodded out, men will race anything.

You know it's timed from a cold standing start, no idling. They yank that cord and throw it over their head and cut usually 2 disc off within a certain thickness, and it has to be a full disc. If it doesn't start right away - you lose.

508lbs? those guys dont seem to being having a problem holding 250 lbs each mostly with one hand
Thats what I was thinking too. Even an above average fella doesn't just stand there and hold 250lbs up for that long.

Scott I'm not exactly sure where it's at. He just said sugar creek, which is fairly large area
I'll try to ask him today where he's talking about and let you know.

I have no intrest in chainsaws...I dont even like to run one..

BUT...Hot saws are badass..I wouldnt run one..but id grab a beer and watch all day long.
