Just wondering if anyone on here as stayed in downtown Nashville for vaction? Im looking for nice hotels that are in the downtown area. Anyone have any suggestions?

I had to fly up to Nashville last week to check on a job and man that place is busy... I thought Charlotte had bad traffic... Nashville's horrible..

I didn't stay downtown but near the airport there's tons of Hotels and they're only like 7 miles from Downtown... I stayed in the Embassy Suites and it was nice...

i've stayed at two places near music row within the past year. one was a hampton inn, and the other was a best western. both were decent and cheaper than anything else in that area.

if you're looking for something nicer, there are other places though. there's a days inn, a sheridan, and a hilton i think all right there within walking distance of music row.

I stayed in downtown about a week ago. Stayed in the Holiday Inn Express. About 5 blocks from the main strip in downtown. Great stay would highly recommend it.

For NICE 5* you cant bat the Loews Vanderbilt....but you pay for what you get

I stay at the Courtyard everytime I go for business...about a block from the "bat building" (AT&T building...you'll know it when you see it)...

real close to the music action...really wide variety of room layouts...

while you are in the area be sure to take the free tour of the Jack Daniels distillery. iirc it was about 30 or so miles out of nashville. we went to nashville last year on a family vacation (lol, my parents are teetotalers and i still cant believe i talked them into it) and it that was by far the best tour i have ever been on, and ive been on a lot of tours.

yeah.. that's one of the ones i was thinking of, not the days inn. iirc, the times i've priced rooms there it's always been the best value in the area in terms of proximity to the downtown nightlife and quality. as a result, they stay fairly full though.

fwiw to anyone that might need the info, the hampton inn i mentioned above was more than accomodating to let me hog a section of their lot for my suburban/32ft. trailer. there's also a walmart neighborhood market in the north eastern part of downtown that welcomes rv's to stay for free like any of the "normal" big stores. i've tested them fully with a 40ft. rv + 32ft. trailer and the manager just chuckled. if you've never seen the neighborhood market version, they're little mini versions with limited parking.

Gaylord Opry hotel for the experience if you've never been, great food and you can find bargains, kids love the pool and all the amenities. Be sure to eat at 'Cock of the Walk' great catfish place.
