How about this for a tow rig?

I was given this 1983 dodge prospector van. It has the 318 in it and it had the 904 tranny but it was shot. I have rebuilt a 727 and put that in there. Uwharrie is only 3.5 to 4 hours away from me and I drive my jeep there now. I want to be able to go to some better places but driving 6+ hours wheeling and then driving back is too risky especially for a weekend trip. It's only got 90000 miles on the motor. How bad would this thing kill me on gas towing my tj?

Its not the gas efficiency...it is the suspension that may (literally) kill you.

It would suck pulling some of the grades on the way to Harlan. That Duffield grade will be miserable.

It will work, but it isn't the best. I would swap in the rear end and front hubs from a 250 or 350 van, maybe throw an add a leaf in the back. The 318 and the 727 will last forever as long as you keep them cool.
