Well, I know it's not the 4x4 build you wish you could see, but it is a build on what I do best. (Can't show the build pics on the kids, it wouldn't be work safe then:huggy:) This floor is in a local home here in Maiden. The materials are 4" #1 white oak with walnut accents, and a little 2 1/4 white oak for good measure.

The staircase going up the the bonus room is white oak also, but has walnut risers.

Flush mount vents are pretty much standard.

Looks good! But you really need a Swiffer on those stairs.

I had a vent that came in pretty close to some border work I'm doing. Most would just cut, nail or glue this section together but not have it locked. The right way is too get all of the wood to lock via t/g

After measuring everything out and using router, the pieces can be reassembled using spline and existing t/g

This is the begining of the fire place. The homeowner has a crappy idea for the inside, so I'm not doing it yet. I want them to let me do something else so I'm buying time at the moment.

The beginings of the dining room. 2 1/4 white oak laid on some angle, not a 45 I know. It's set up so that the angle will go completly corner to corner. This would only happen if you had a perfect square.

I'll get some more pic's up next week, but this is the only decent pics I have at the moment.

And as far as the swiffer, It was clean when I installed it:rolleyes:

now let's see you do it with Popsicle sticks!

Nice work!
popsicle sticks would be too thick! there are 4 strips for the curves to make up the band.
