So i bought my old lady a chevy with SAS and 44 18.5s. she wanted a great big chevy and it was the biggest frickin one i could find. So here is the problem i think the 44s are way too much and kinda aggrevating to keep up with. Now my thinking is maybe some 38s or 40s. she is 5ft tall and im trying to just make things easier for the both of us. ive approached the situation many times but no go, but i cant give up. so what do i do? help, im with someone who is smart and has some really good "persuiasive ways". ideas?

simple. let her buy the tires.

buying the tires wont work bc there is plenty of meat left and it doesnt get driven a whole lot. she knows i will take care of the truck because i hate to see it go to waste. just wondering if there was something i can do to get a leg up on the situation. starting to wish i had just bought jewelry again for christmas.

this is sad...............:shaking:

just tell her you have the tires sold guy is coming tomorrow to get them and find a buddy's house to keep them till they sale and get some 40's on that pig!!

ok let me defend myself. yea i look like i have the man hood of a 3 year old right now, but i told her the truck was hers bc well it is hers. i dont want the thing its too big for my taste. she wants the 44s and shes stuck on them. call it sad all u want it being just like her telling me i couldnt do what i wanted with something she bought me. i do like the idea of taking the wheels off and watching her try and put them back on i think that would be worth watching(from a safe distance). honostly she can keep the tires up there it would just be easier w/o them. she trails it locally its just a lil bit over kill. if i just take them off and put on what i want then she will think she can do the same with my things so i have to make it her choice. so here i am trying to find some leverage.

Umm......you got a lot to learn bud!

What axles and gearing do you have? Tell her how much more power it will have in the trails with some 38's and she can take it on tighter trails with 38's. Im sure on 44's your riding all in the lower tree branches.

At this point you have but 3 options.

1) Man up, swap out the tires, and tell her whats done is done, and live with the consequences with your head held high.

2) Give me your address, and a written agreement for me to leave that bitch on jackstands/blocks (your choice) and you won't have to worry about a thing, including ever seeing those 44's again.

3) Take a loss, slash a few tires, never tell anyone because your friends will hate you, and stick her with the bill unless shes willing to get 38s.

I still don't understand why 44's are an issue, not trying to talk junk just seriously wondering, what are you worried about wheel bearings or ball joints going out a lot, or actual like shaft/ujoint/axle breakage?

Sounds to me like she just wants something Big to drive around in occasionally, I don't see why 44's would be an issue, not like she's DD'ing it.

On a serious note though I wouldn't just do it without getting her to agree, because like you said if she gets the idea she can do whatever she wants with your stuff thats gonna be really bad, really quick.

Not sure what you mean by 'keep up with'

If you mean driving down the road, then you might need to address something in the steering, ball joints, tire balancing, or wheel bearings. Big bias ply tires are only going to handle but so good though.

If you mean maintenance wise, then as long as the truck has ton axles, you should be fine. If it is on 1/2 tons, then well....

First: Is she Hot?
If Yes: Deal with it, you have a hot Girl that likes big trucks, SHUT UP!
If No: She's a chick, It's going to be a lot easier to just change the tires, than changing her mind.

Second, If she's hot, then why haven't you posted picts of her sitting on the 44's? You'd get more interesting replies if you did.

seriously though, if you bought her a diamond ring, do you really think you could convince her that the diamond was too big and you should size it down? you already bought it, deal with it until they wear down, or rot off.

I agree with Ricky. You bought the truck for her. She likes it and is happy with it. I see this turning out really bad for you if you keep pushing for what you want on HER truck.

Ya Man, don't mess with the lil woman's rig, or you might find she starts messin with yours.
:huggy:

or reverse the rolls, She tells you, your rig is too big and you need to downsize your tires. she keeps telling you that, and you're gonna call it NAGGING!

When my ex wife wanted 37's on a ZJ she ended up with it, wasn't until we split that she discovered I was keeping my 37's and she now had a jeep on 35's. If my current other half decides she wants a Toyota on 54's or a lowered dually she may just get it. Learned a long time ago that it's easier to justify what I plan to shell cash out for on my toys if they get what they want on thiers. Only problem I've run into now is the current girlfriend has no want for her own rig, so she may just have to understand when the tire/parts/fishing gear bill shows up... Just my .02

X2!! That is awesome you girl wants a big truck!

a lot of times it is easier to deal with fixing the truck because of her choice instead of having her complain for years that she wanted 44's and you bought 38's.

she proabably doesnt understand the extra issues and cost now but since she wants 44's she then has no grounds to complain when she sees the costs because they were her choice.
