what can i do to my 86 toyota 4x4 to get a smoother ride?

so far:
new shocks, torsion bars all the way down.

It is a truck !! how smooth of a ride do you expect ?

Honestly, what shocks are you using up front ? and if the Torsion bars are too low, you will ride on the bump stops, also not good.

since its an 86 don't forget to check bushings everywhere to be sure they're all in good condition, you may have to replace some.

it's a light, shortwheel base, 4x4 truck, it aint meant to ride smooth. buy a buick

the rear is stiff. the front is pretty smooth now. i do have extended shackles on it they look like this. \\

trying to lower it down and make it a daily driver.

I had to:lol:

stock type shocks, and the bump stops are about 2 inches away.

Install 63' Chevy springs in the rear and it will ride like a cadillac.

www.budbuilt.com sells the kits. Go to a junk yard and get the springs out of a late 90's model truck. It will ride pretty good and can be done for little of nothing.
