I'm in the process of narrowing a HP44 to put under my TJ. I pretty much have all the parts and pieces ready to go but I have a question about the coil buckets. Why are they offset to the front on a stock 30 and does it matter if I use centered buckets on the 44?
Seems like centering them will push the front axle forward a little which sounds like a good thing. What am I missing here, any good reason not to center?

They are offset from the factory but there is no reason at all not to center them on your new axle John. That is what I do most of the time. It should give about 2" of extra wheelbase with no major issues. Just make sure you get the trackbar/steering in line and make sure they don't interfere with each other.

Go fo it.

Thanks Andy. That's kinda what it looked like but Thought I'd ask the question. Extra wheelbase = :):driver:
BTW, thanks for straightening out that broken shaft with chad.

John
